At the Bakery Dunbar we like our pain levain holey. The process for creating such a texture is a closely guarded secret, but because it is a natural process it can vary quite a bit. The number of holes and the size that is.
Another well-kept secret is that we’ve been working with Dunbar Parish Church and Grace Church who have been collecting at the end of each day any left over bread. They organise a local food bank and make sure the bread finds an appreciative home. This means that the needy in Dunbar and district are getting a nutritious loaf and ensures that little of our surplus bread goes to waste.
We want to take the opportunity to thank the congregations of both churches and Gordon Stevenson for generously providing an anonymous donation to support our work.
